1. Abstract

bs-16 is a multitimbral software playback sampler for Steinberg VST 2.4, and Apple Audio Units plug-in format. You can play all SoundFont 2 files for Creative Sound Blaster series, and DLS (Downloadable Sounds) files on your host application. bs-16 supports Mac OS X and Windows .

4. Install

• [Mac OS X] Run (double-click) bs-16.pkg
• [Windows] Run (double-click) bs-16.msi

5. How to use

• Startup bs-16 from your host application, and open editor window.

• Select your SoundFont / DLS file in file open dialog box.
  • bs-16 can load 8 SoundFont (*.sf2) or DLS (*.dls) files. Each part can select and play one files from them.
  • You can load a file in any volume and folder.
  • The maximum size of the file depends on RAM amount of your Mac/PC.
• Presets can be choosed by instrument type, bank, and program change parameter.
  • "instrument type" popup menu selects type of presets (melody / drum 1/ drum 2).
  • "bank (MSB/LSB)" popup menus send MIDI bank select message to plug-in.
    • [SoundFont] Bank select LSB value will be ignored.
    • [SoundFont] Bank select MSB value will be ignored when drum preset is playing 
  • "program change" popup menu and "<" (-10), "-" (-1), "+" (+1), ">" (+10) buttons send MIDI program change message (#0 - #127 ) to plug-in.
• [Windows] You can also load compressed SoundFont files (*.sfArk) processed by melodymachine's sfArk technology.

 

• Polyphonic number is controlled by "polyphony" popup menu. You can save processor power by this menu.
• Select "Close" in "File" menu to clear memory.

6. License

bs-16 is shareware. If you find it useful for you and your environment, please send me US$50 registration fee (If you have purchased bs-1, you can upgrade with US$20). Please refer to the following link place about the method of paying.

This license is common for all platforms, so the password for Mac OS X and Windows OS are same.

All registered users can receive an e-mail including "user name" (your email address) and "password" for 2 or 3 days. After input them in plug-in window, all restrictions will be removed.
